The Third Secret: We thought we were at the finish, but our way bent round and we found ourselves as it were back at the beginning, and just as far from that which we were seeking at first.
This is the final painting of the Three Secrets series. When I started The First Secret I made a decision to concentrate on just one character and come back and explore other ideas at a later date. The Third Secret explores the mysteries of the labyrinth and the nature of the guardian of it’s centre.
The connecting theme is a beautiful and mysterious place close to the village of Montsegur in the French Pyrenees, and the myth, history, and folklore of the area. This is also linked to the cave art in the Niaux Cave, not too far away, some of which is reproduced in the painting.
